Happy 2014! I can't believe another year has flown by. I was looking over my goals from last year and was surprised to see that I actually accomplished a few of the goals that I set for myself! Nothing extraordinary, but I made small steps in the right direction which made me feel pretty good :)
I feel like resolutions get written off too easily. Setting goals is important, an act of faith, and resolutions encourage us to make progress that might not happen otherwise. I believe that not all resolutions are destined to fail, and it's our choice if we accomplish them or not. One trick that helps me is setting ‘mini-goals’ to accomplish a bigger goal. Baby steps. As said in one of my favorite verses in the Book of Mormon, "By small and simple things are great things brought to pass." (Alma 37:6)
For some reason this year feels different. I guess I'm ready to move past dwelling on my weaknesses and resolving to do something to reach for a greater potential. Hopefully this inspires you to look at resolutions differently and, of course, it doesn't hurt to set goals throughout the year!
Here's to change! I wish you all the best in the New Year.
Cheers.
