I wore this outfit to church on Sunday. I got this leather pencil skirt while thrifting at Value Village.  I thought this was a fun, unique piece and I enjoy the suede accent. My sister said this outfit reminds of Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere. I featured this skirt in a video I made {we shall see if I'm brave enough to share it with ya'll}.

and here's a better view of my new cut. I'm actually loving the shorter hair. The way I styled it is kind of funky fresh and makes me look older. I was trying to go for the 60's bob look but didn't quite turn out. oh well...ha. I'm still trying to figure out how to style this do. and I feel lil like Alexa Chung...hehe.

winter uniform no. 1

"Oh Canada"
I thought I'd share with you some of my winter looks to take advantage of my winter gear since spring is just around the corner {well maybe not for Winnipeg a.k.a. Winterpeg}. We have been blessed with a pretty mild winter so far and it just started snowing more recently. I enjoy snow -- it's beautiful and the weather tends to be more mild when it snows.

tip: Wear a lot of layers to stay warm. I layered my sweater over my button up and then under my parka. I also tucked my pants into my good ol' wool socks. For more intense weather, I'll even double up my socks and wear my handy dandy long johns {you may feel like a nerd but they really help...I usually wear mine all winter}. Every layer counts!

I'm excited for the weekend. For my Winnipeg folk, please be careful driving...it's pretty snowy and slippery {sorry I get that from my mom}.  I'm off to that  black light zumba party tonight! What are your plans?

happy friday.

STYLE FILE | Shumsky Sisters

Introducing Stefanie {left} and Kaylene {right} Shumsky. They're sisters and they're my sisters-in-law {well technically sisters of my sister-in-law}. This is what they wore to church on Sunday. They both love dressing up and love to thrift shop. Here's a mini Q&A:

{Kaylene}
....
How would you describe your style? Anything I like or anything that I'm comfortable in.

What are your favorite pieces in your closet right now? My mustard colored pants from Forever 21 and a grey blazer I got from Costa Blanca.

What are your favorite trends? French braids, solid nail polish, and bows.

{Stefanie}

How would you describe your style? Urban 50's
///
What are your favorite accessories? Lip gloss, pearl ring, leopard clutch, watches, and nail polish.
///
What are your favorite trends? I don't even know how to answer that. But I really am into the modern East Indian look...like the loose pants with tight bottoms and the fun bangles.
