sunday dress

This is what I wore to church. I was inspired by madewell, pretty much one of my ultimate favorite stores. I love their easy cool style. By the way that is one of my techniques for putting an outfit together or styling myself. I think of a store that I like and think how they would wear something. Just a tip if you're stumped. I was a little stumped on how to wear this cobalt blue metallic skirt and it helped.  Also I just got this little triangle necklace and it's been my neck charm these days. I wish you can see it better in detail but my photos are a lil blurry.

chambray look no. 4

Here is the last of the looks for how to wear a chambray shirt. You can wear it like a jacket or as a layering piece. I guess it's like another take on the denim jacket. The chambray shirt is definitely a basic / go-to / something to fall back on when you don't know what to wear while looking effortless shirt. I just love it. I hope you were inspired by these looks.

ps. I'm featured in a sponsor spotlight on Dearest Lou today. Stop over and say hi!

Another way to wear your chambray is to button it up all the way. It's a preppier look and it's a simple change. You can add a statement necklace and this style looks good layered under a sweater or shirt. Like this.

chambray look no. 2

Here's another way to style your classic chambray shirt. A simple tie in the front changes up the look and makes it more original. It's also a great modest-cover up for over a sleeveless dress or top! I styled it like this in another outfit.

hat: le chataeu
chambray button up: thrifted
skirt: forever 21
shoes: springs
ring: pacsun

On another note, here's some shots from valentines. You bes believe I went out with my girls again. We dressed up, went shopping at the mall, watched 'The Vow', and got dessert at Moxies. I say it was a day well spent and filled with lots oh love.

1. surprised by some chocolate goods from my sweet sweet mom. love her.
2. a flower crown that I made to make myself feel pretty..heh
3. did my nails with little hearts.
4. white chocolate brownie (soo good).

I am doing a guest post soon and I'm supa dupa excited for it! You'll find out soon what it's about ;)  Let's just say it has to do with my fav chambray chambray. So I'm going to share a few of the looks. And my girl Latoya helped me style this one. I'm not used to dressing up like this but it's always good to try new things and it actually grew on me. She took the shots too and it was so fun. They look great! Thanks toya :)

sunday dress

Thrifted Button up/ Forever 21 Maxi Dress/ Winners Purse/ Target Clogs

I wore this to Stake Conference for church. Stake Conference was so good by the way! It was such a spiritual boost and so inspiring. It's so great to meet as a whole stake. {There is only one stake in Winnipeg. Geography wise it's huge! It covers all of Manitoba, part of Ontario, and part of Minnesota.} This outfit was  inspired by the lovely Elaine from clothedmuch. I never thought of tying my button-up in the front because I thought it was too old school or something. But hey...it's not so bad after all. It's also a good way to use as a cover up! So the moral of the story is...don't be afraid to try new things!

What are some trends that you have tried?
